Silent Night-Original painting

Silent Night is more than a painting; it is a symphony of sunset memories and the delicate beauty of nature on the Greek island of Zakynthos. This artwork reflects a moment in time that is both tranquil and vivid and captures the essence of the island's unique flora.

The painting was created during the sunset hours after my workshops teaching at the summer academy in the village of Vasilikos, on Zakynthos island.

It is a plant study, a poetic exploration of various plants. I had no goals of creating contemporary art but instead to melt in the moment, be a part of that perfect place and reflect on what I see and feel.
The artwork doesn't just depict a serene night on Zakynthos and recalls waking up at 3 am, stirred by the distant crowing of roosters. This sound, which could have been an annoyance, transforms into a meditative experience, an unexpected invitation to witness the island's nighttime charm. The rooster, symbolizes the alchemical principle of the element mercury...

In the modern world, we often find ourselves entangled in the web of digital technologies and the relentless pursuit of achievement. Returning to nature's simplicity and serenity in a quiet village can provide:
A grounding experience.
Rekindling our connection to the earth and inspiring creativity, inner peace, and even more.
Questioning why we do so many things which maybe matter in the modern world but don't make us happy.

The Austrian Summer Academy is a loophole, where time has stopped, and people go back to the roots of humanity, where it is all about creativity, community, spending time together, and enjoying life near the sea.
