A Moon Night

This painting was inspired by the connection with nature.

The most significant part was painted outside, under a tree,
on the island of Zakynthos, Greece. The painted plants are local to the island. 
The rooster is a symbol of vigilance and light. 
The mountain sheep ram brings a mystical power. 
The ram is a potent symbol and an impressive animal.
It is associated with determination, strength, and leadership.
To me, the ram looks like a winner having the power to overcome every difficulty. 

The chicken/hen brings the egg into the world.
The egg is an ancient symbol in many traditions, a symbol of fertility,
new beginnings, breaking out of life circumstances that have become too narrow,
and rebirth of yourself, of a new condition, a new project, a new perspective,
a new way to perceive the world.
It is not a coincidence they have been widely used in African initiation rituals.


This painting reminds me of how different one feels far away from the cities full of concrete and stress.
It shall give the observer the feeling of a quiet summer island night, somewhere between the sea and the mountains.
