As an experienced academic painter, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise with aspiring artists of all levels. For 20 years, I have offered various classes covering different aspects of painting, drawing, human anatomy, composition, and perspective, providing students with the skills, tools, and shortcuts necessary to master their craft.

My classes are suitable for beginners and advanced artists. I focus on various techniques, from acrylic and watercolor painting (figurative, portrait, entire body, animals, landscape, abstract painting), ink & pencil drawing, and different types of body painting. I also strongly emphasize observation, techniques used, choice of materials, design, and color psychology, helping students develop their understanding of these fundamental concepts.

Whether you're just starting or looking to take your skills to the next level, my classes offer a supportive and engaging learning environment where you can explore your creativity with me and unleash your artistic potential.

I also offer online classes via Zoom, making my art instruction accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Art is a large playground with numerous possibilities. Whether geometric, figurative, decorative, abstract, with opaque or translucent effects, paintings with multiple layers, graphic lines or photorealistic qualities, everything is possible!

The design and communication between the elements in the artwork play a major role. We will delve into color selection, appropriate perspective, planes and composition, contrast through light and shadow, tranquility and dynamic, as well as the effects of delicate and rough brushstrokes, abstract and figurative layers. Both beginners and advanced learners are welcome.

Bella Volen has a background in old masters drawing styleand is looking forward to help you start or master your craft.     Workshops & lectures can be organized in the whole world, or in my studio in Vienna.
    A class can be for one peroson, or a group.

    Composition, construction, color theory, perception and perspective are most important parts of the artist language alphabet.

    For example, you cannot write a good poem in French if you do not know the alphabet and its vocabulary. If you have a talent for poetry, you must first learn how to use the alphabet and language to magically spin the words. If you want to break certain rules to create something new, you must learn them first.

    Unfortunately, inspiration does not always guide us. To be a professional artist means being able to create in every moment, without waiting for a muse’s kiss. I will show you in a game of transformation of forms and colors how to create in a special way and professional way.

    Bella Volen can be booked worldwide as an art instructor.
    For bookings out of Vienna, Austria, the client shall provide a hotel room, workshop space, paint for the participants and cover the transportation costs. Bella brings brushes, which the class can use and her paint for a demonstration painting.
    Workshop time 10:00 am- 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm
